This shoe is perfect for elderly or anyone with swollen ankles and feet. The adjustable straps make it the perfect fit, the sole grips the floor well and the style is comfortable and attractive.

I bought these shoes for my 80 year-old husband to wear around the house. He loves them, and says they are the most comfortable he has had for his arthritic feet. He also has neuropathy, and these shoes give him support and relief.

My mother has the most sensitive feet in the world. Even the softest slippers elicit cries of pain. I desperately turned to Zappos to search for something that she could wear and came across this shoe. She is not diabetic, but it seemed that this might be appropriate. The fact that it’s adjustable front and back was a big plus. To my amazement, SHE LIKES IT! This shoe is a life saver.

My feet are hard to fit: wide width, high arch, high instep and narrow heel. Plus my big toe is shorter than the adjacent toe.
I have walking shoes in size 7.5 / 2E width.
I originally purchased the Propet Chronus in size 7.5 / Wide (2E). They were too small for me in both length and width. The toe box is surprisingly kind of narrow. The seam and closure area pressed into the nail area of my big toe and was uncomfortable. Please note that my big toe is shorter than the 2nd toe.
I ordered a second pair, 1/2 size larger, same width (size 8 Wide) and I got an excellent fit. They are very comfortable and sole is slip-resistant on a dry slick smooth surface, such as a wood floor. There is some slippage on a wet smooth floor, not too bad as compared to other types of soles on wet floors.
Once adjusted, the Chronus is very easy to don nand doff, without removing the straps, due to elastic quality of the neoprene which is a big plus in my estimation.
There is no arch support. This was not an issue for me as I will only wear them inside the house or maybe taking the garbage out.
There were no washing instructions included, but they appear to be hand washable. It will probably take a long time to dry, though.
The heel strap made a huge difference in obtaining a custom fit.
I am very happy to find such a comfy and practical shoe.

I took a recommendation from someone else and ordered these 1/2 size larger for my mother who suffers from swollen feet. She actually really likes them! Thank goodness!

I ordered these for my elderly mom and aunt. They both absolutely love them. They are so comfortable. The best feature is the adjustability. Worth EVERY penny.

I suffer from Psoriatic Arthritis which leaves my toes swollen, stiff and very painful at times. These shoes are a lifesaver. They are so very comfortable, easy to take on and off and allow my sore and painful toes the ability to move freely. Very good arch support as well. If you have any arthritic problems in the feet, I would highly recommend these shoes. So thankful to have found these.

This is the second pair of these shoes I have purchased for my 93 year old mom. Among her ailments, she has hammer toes and diabetes. These shoes accommodate her special needs and provide both comfort and support. I highly recommend them.

Finally! After trying many shoes at Zappos, I’ve found a decently comfortable shoe that is also adjustable and easy to put on.
I’m using these as my “slippers” when I walk around the house. They work very well in this capacity since the upper is made from a funky wet-suit like material — stretchy and a bit like thin foam. I can easily tuck my heel in with my finger and not need a shoehorn.
The soles are very bendable, and fairly comfortable, though I will replace the inserts with something a little more cushy.
I meant to take them off when I sat at the computer to write this review, but an hour later, I realize they are still on my feet! The upper doesn’t squeeze, so they are quite comfy.
I needed support & cushioning since my feet develop cracks and blisters often and also swell. These are fitting the bill so far!

This was the only shoe I found that worked for an elderly lady who has very swollen feet and a tendency toward foot ulcers. Her toes and front part of her foot is too swollen to fit into anything that fits the length of her foot, however this shoe opens fully on top and had enough velcro adjustment to work for her. The one thing she doesn’t like is that they are a bit heavy. It would be great to have something with a lighter sole.

Shoes looked small and narrow…and they were. My Mother has difficult, painful feet deformed by bunions and hammer toes and swelling off and on. I’m reordering if they come wider than a D, because they certainly didn’t look wide and were not. Plus they are smaller than normal. Her toes hit the end as did mine and we both normally wear 6.5. Otherwise they look comfortable and easy to put on.

I am a size 6 1/2 wide in shoes – consistently across all brands. it is possible that the shoes I received were mislabeled BUT I have to share that me stoes were bunched at the tip (and I have ‘short toes’) and the width was so small that my toes bulged out at the side. The shoes felt and looked like a size 5. This is especially troubling as the shoes are meant for those of us with problematic feet. There are other phrases that I thought about, but the words were too strong, even for a negative review – beware!!!

I can tell these will be comfortable when I get the right size. I’m ordering one size up. If

I bought these for my 92 year old mother in the wide width which is what she normally wears. These were too narrow and run small. I returned and ordered the extra wide and a whole size larger. They fit and are so nice for her. The velcro on the top and the heel make it easier for her to wear on days that her feet are very swollen. Nice sole and non-slip to help her stability. Nice shoe.

I bought these shoes for my mother who wears an 8.5 EE. The sole of this shoe is the same size as my 7 m. Although the tag says it is an 8.5 EE, it clearly is not. The construction is cheap – plastic sole with minimal slick tread. I am returning them. I am really disappointed in the quality and sizing.

I got these for my mother, whose feet are somewhat swollen due to diabetes. One foot is slightly larger than the other. With these shoes, adjustable on the top and in the back, she is able to make them fit comfortably on both feet. She is absolutely thrilled with them and asked for additional pairs in other colors, but I only see them in black.

I searched a long time to fine shoes for my mom suffering with edema. These shoes were the answer but I have to warn you to order a half size larger if you have any toe issues! The toe box is low and that extra half size is needed so the toes are comfortable. The stretchy fabric is great and the way the back opens too is a real plus when getting them on anyone with sore swollen feet. A really good choice for anyone suffering with foot problems.

I can see the appeal for someone with swollen or injured feet, but for anyone else, all the Velcro straps are a bit weird. Also, the footbed does not have the cushioning that I was hoping for. They feel like regular $20 slippers.

I have to bandage one leg sometimes, starting at the toes, and no longer have to wear a standard orthopedic shoe! These are comfy & flexible & as stylish as you are gonna get for a Velcro toe and heel!

I really needed these shoes to fit since I had foot surgery. Unfortunately the sole of these shoes are flat and extremely hard. Felt like I was walking on a board. My foot also kept sliding forward, jamming my toes against the front of the shoe. These shoes are supremely uncomfortable. They need cushioning inside and a softer, thicker sole. I wound up buying a pair of wide Tempur-Pedic slide slippers and wearing them as shoes. Thanks for the easy return Zappos.

I bought these shoes for my 86 year old mother because her feet swell and she needed shoes for winter that were adjustable in all directions. The neoprene is very soft and has a bit of give in all directions for swollen feet. The adjustable velcro closures are perfect. They allow for snug fit both when her feet are swolen and when they are not. Mom did not like the feel of the removable insole but upon removing that those she found the shoes quite comfortable. These are quality well made shoes. The shoes felt small for the size so I reordered them in a full size larger.

These are perfect for my mother, who has narrow heels but needs extra room up front to softly enclose bunions.
Anonymous –
I ordered my regular size, but these are at least 1/2 size too short. Also, I need arch support and these have none
Anonymous –
I have very wide feet, plus bunions, so got these to use as slippers since there’s typically not a great width selection in house shoes. I typically wear 8.5 XXwide, so I ordered a 9 xxwide, and found my toes right up against the front end. Plus there is no arch support at all, just a 1/4 inch foam cushion. I do not recommend these shoes.

No cushioning. I thought that I’d try slippers that are made for diabetics because I assumed there would be good cushioning and nothing would scratch my feet. These slippers have no cushioning to speak of; it’s like walking on cardboard. I wanted slippers that weren’t mules or clogs so I was okay with this style that has a tab to tighten them. Once again the manufacturer “saved money” by making the hook and loop section really small. I wonder how many are returned because the hook and loop section is too short?
