I do like the style and fit, i think the comfort is spot on. The real problem is that the sole is low quality and wears out very quickly. This is the second pair and it they both have that problem.

I am a woman struggling for choices in very wide shoes. I bought Propet Lucas Hi in a 9.5 XX (5E). Although I only need the width at the front of my foot, these shoes did not slide around at the heel, which is terrific. I didn’t like the Tan Waxy Nubuck color in real life at first — it was almost orangy — but it did look good with jeans. They were pretty comfortable, which is saying a lot with my problem feet (bunions, hallux rigidus). (Just FYI, the Lucas did not work for me at all, they are constructed very differently across the front.) The rise in the back was a little stiff. The zipper is nice — you don’t have to adjust the laces. The zipper is on the outside — opposite from the zipper on the women’s Propet Delaney. I returned them only because of my ambivalence about how often I can wear them in this color.

I am very pleased with my Lucas Hi.. I ordered them in tan and they fit a little large.. I usually wear a 14 but measure at a 13.5 and these in 13-3e wide feel about a half size too big but that’s fine with me.. if u have flatter/wider feet these feel fine.. love the slip on/off appeal of the zipper on the side.. the laces have a flat wide shape with a slight waxy quality to prevent them from premature wear/untying

They are asymmetrical in their design. One zipper is on the outside of the shoe the other is on the inside of the shoe. Like a buying boots with one zipper in front and one in back. Additionally, the little loop-strap, in the back, which would be useful to pull on the boots, is so short, that I can’t get a finger through it. This is a poorly designed shoe, hard to get on and off, even with the asymmetrical zippers. (Now, I shall print my return label, and be done with them)

Best casual shoes ever. I originally ordered a size 14 but reordered a size 13. The shoes are so comfortable that I’m going to reorder another pair. If you wear a 13 or larger these are the shoes for you.

This is my second pair of Propets and I ordered down a half size, and am happy I did. My normal size (11 EEEE) felt loose and the 10.5 eee is perfect. Could be a bit wider but they loosen up a bit after a month or so. Materials are okay, the leather is not full grain cow. Its thinner, more likely from sheep. In a sneaker style shoe this is acceptable in my opinion though. I do love that Propet stitches their soles on, it makes all the difference, especially in a lighter built sneaker like these. Because of this the rubber sides of the sole stay put, unlike Vans or similarly built glued soles that separate after a few months of wear. The slight shine on the laces is a cool finishing touch. My one style gripe is I wish the zipper was on the inside of each shoe rather than the outside where it is more visible.

Another great propet shoe that is stylish enough for my high school aged son who has extremely wide feet. He likes to skate, so this shoe has the right look for him. They’ve gotten fairly worn out on the back edge, so I’m not sure they were truly built to be worn as skate shoes, but my son has been wearing them daily for 3 months now and they’ve held up really well.

I just received my second pair of these same shoes … this time in the Tan shade. I bought this second pair because the first pair I bought (in Black) was so comfortable and just fit me like a glove. This second pair proved to be exactly the same. I wear a size 8.5, 3E … and it’s always difficult to find shoes that really are well made and fit well. These are probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever purchased! It feels like I’m walking on a cushion of foam … and which conforms to the size and fit of my feet … wrapping them in sheer comfort. Best shoes ever!

Fit is snug for me. I ordered a EEE, but my high instep still makes it a little difficult to zip up. I think this will be remedied as I work the shoes in, as they have for the other Lucas shoes I own. The guy who got the asymmetrical shoes should have returned them. My zippers are on the outside of each shoe (see photo 4/19/20). The zippers seem to be strong now, there were some reports that they were not great quality when these shoes first came out two or so years ago.

These look fantastic! Good quality too. They look good with jeans, chinos, slacks, quite versatile. Casual but not too casual. I was hesitant about having a zipper on my shoes but this one blends in well and doesn’t stand out. Plus it is such a convenience to leave them tied and zip in and out of them in two seconds. I usually wear US10.5 or 11 max, I got these in 10.5 and almost returned them cause they feel like 11.5 – I decided to keep them because it left room for an additional insole for comfort. Now they fit great.

These are really comfortable and stylish. The side-pull zipper is really hard to get all the way closed in the up position. So much so that I put a leather thong on the zipper pull to get more leverage. I assume as the shoes become worn in to my foot that this will get easier.

Absolutely great shoes, when I first got them the box didn’t look to amazing looks like it’s straight out of the 70’s ( I know the look of the box means nothing to the shoe inside, but something I noticed ). Then I opened it and saw these lovely things. Not only did it meet the looks shown on Zappos but it looked a little better. I unlaced them…then realized the zipper and promptly smacked myself on the forehead. Unzipped them zipped them back up with ease ( though I will say the less tension they have the easier it is to zip them back up ) and walked on them and WOW even though they are about as flat as a pair of converse they are WAAAYYY more comfortable. I walked on these for about 5 hours and yeah these look great and feel great. I do wish the insoles were replaceable I would say 5/5 but because it’s doesn’t have that can only give it a 4/5 . But would definitely recommend.

I have owned these in past. Loved them. This is above the normal width that I would get but tried as I was hoping would be ok. I normally am just an average width, but went one width size up in my size to try. As these are a narrow style the extra width is not an issue – happy with result and excited I get to own these again.

Light Weight, not much cushioning or arch support. But this style of shoe never had much of either.
Overall decent shoe, zipper on the outside of ankle harder to use.

Instantly became my new favorite shoes. You have to know the brand though. I’m usually a 11.5 Wide with almost every other brand. With these shoes, I’m an 11 5E (extra wide!). Also, I ordered new insoles because these soles tend to be a bit flat for my feet. So with a little assist from Dr. Scholls, these shoes are just awesome. Love the styling, great fit, and the zip on the side is like acceptable velcro for adults.
This is my 2nd pair of these shoes — one in black, one in brown. And yes, I will get more once I wear those out.

I feel justified in writing a review of this purchase even though it’s still being processed. I love these shoes. The fit is great (especially for a guy with fat feet like mine) and I’ve never had a pair of shoes that’s gotten more compliments and comments. I also took very good care of them having them polished regularly. Though they wore like iron, shoes worn nearly every day don’t last forever. Fat feet split seams. So, I went to buy another pair of each color (I have both the black and tan versions) and I was disappointed when the black ones were out of stock. I was frightened that they’d stopped making this style and I’d missed out! So, I’m thrilled to see they’re available again!
