Outside heel base breakdown –
After receiving these shoes I found they were very comfortable and enjoyed working out in our health club with them on. After wearing them for approximately 6 months I noticed the outside of the heel on the left side began to breakdown. The rubber composite began to disintegrate and gave the shoe a look that wasn’t very attractive. I wonder if other wearers had the same problem.

I must admit that I had never heard of Propet shoes prior to purchasing my first pair here. They looked good in the picture and that is all that mattered at the time. Therefore, when they arrived, I was satisfied the moment I opened the box. What took me by surprise was how incredibly light they were as I removed each from the box, even with each shoe being stuffed full with wadded paper to help the shoe retain its shape in transit. I removed all the paper and again marveled at the lightness of this shoe, even with my size 11 1/2 gunboats.
The construction was solid they felt great when I put them on for the first time. I am a retired letter carrier and wish I had discovered these shoes when I was still working. They have all the support and comfort you need and all the style you want, all in one shoe.
I have previously purchased Nike, Reebok, and Rockport walking shoes. This pair finishes far ahead of all of those with Rockport coming in 2nd. If you’re a Rockport person and used to Rockport comfort, you’ll truly love these shoes. If you like the style Nike and Reebok offer but desire more in comfort, try these.
I feel as if the sizing is accurate but snug. If you’re a “between sizes” person, order a 1/2 size up. I used my shoe stretchers overnight to widen the toe area slightly and “VIOLA”, the shoes were now broken in and sheer joy to wear.
Even without my shoe stretchers, I doubt that there would have been any long or uncomfortable break-in time.

Only one word of caution –
The “sport white” is really a very light tan color, which I really hate. However, since I’m only going to be wearing these on the treadmill at home I’m going to keep them; the good folks at Zappos.com have been more than gracious about helping me find shoes that are actually wide enough! If you have REALLY wide feet, consider the 5E version of these…I’m just so happy to find shoes that actually fit. I’m going to be ordering the “white” version for wearing out and about. Thanks, Zappos! I’d have no shoes that fit if it wasn’t for you!

Not up to standards for support –
I bought a pair of these for motion control and to accommodate orthotics I wear inside my shoes. Wanted something other than the running shoes I have worn in the past. I was impressed with the factory insole. I am not a large person, BUT, within weeks the bottom sole was separating. And the uppers simply do not provide the support needed for overpronation. They made my feet hurt! And they fit very tight in the toes compared with New Balance. These are now in my closet waiting for my next garage sale. A waste of money for me!

Great shoe, great value –
I’m on my feet all day and the Propet Walker is perfect. All I can say, for the price and on your feet all day, or out for a long walk, get this shoe.

A dream of a shoe –
Well-fitting, good looking, a pleasure to wear.

Shoes are great ~ Zappos is BEST!
I got these shoes for my son who has size 17 wide flat feet. He wears them to work and is quite happy with them. They do run wide so you might not need them as wide as you think. They have a nice roomy toe box also. My biggest praise though goes to Zappos. I ordered these at 9:30EST and had them in my hand by 4pm the next day!! And that was with free shipping. Now imagine how the world would work if all businesses were run this way…

Great comfort, the first time you step in. Great looks. Would purchase them again in a heartbeat.

Very nice sneakers. Comfortable to walk in. Well made. No blisters, callouses, aches or pains walking with these on. I walk 3 miles a day on the sidewalks. True to size. The sneakers I’ve listed below, brands I recommend, are all good.

I really like this shoe. It’s comfortable and supportive. I am curious to see how long it lasts as I walk every day.

I ordered these because my husband needs extra wide shoes, which are very hard to find. These fit perfectly and are very comfortable. We are very happy with this purchase.

This is the best walking shoe I have used. I walk 25 to 30 miles per week for excercise and have tried lots of different shoes over the years.

My father likes these shoes and they hold up well, he wears the 5E. Excellent shoe for extreme width.

The reason I wear Propet shoes is they fit. I have very wide feet, as well as problems with my legs. Propets provide good support. They also provide excellent value for the price.

I’m 82. I have wide and thick feet. Until I found Zappos, I could never get a shoe to fit; always had to get a standard width at local shoe stores, so I would have to buy 2 sizes too long. For the first time in my life, I now have shoes that fit. Previous, as well as this one, have caused me to throw out about 15 pair of non fitting shoes I purchased before I found Zappos.

I bought these shoes for my husband, who has weak ankles and rolls his foot inward when he walks. This shoe is wonderful. He loves them. He walks easily and with confidence in these shoes. They are very well made.

This was my first order from Zappos and my very first time ordering shoes on-line. I have been struggling for many many years trying to find shoes that fit (size 14 narrow), and have finally given up. As a matter of fact, I have been wearing the wrong size for so long, I have forgotten what a comfortable pair of shoes that fit well feels like. After finding that Zappos carries my size and reading about their generous return policy, I decided to take a chance. These shoes fit perfectly! They are so comfortable, I wear them every day to work and also for dress. From now on, all my shoes will be ordered from Zappos!

These shoes were purchased about a month ago. Great fit and comfortable. Problem….The shoe is separating from the sole. Disappointed.

I wear a 14 5E with orthotic inserts due to neuropathy and toe issues. I had never heard of this brand but have found it to be comfortable. My first pair split at the seam on the front within 6 weeks which Zappos replaced at no charge. I only walk in them — no running — so was initially disappointed. I am also wearing a New Balance 847 14 6E that seems more comfortable than the Propet but couldn’t get it in a style to wear at a wedding or funeral.

I’ve been wearing these Propet Stability Walker shoes for several years now, mostly the brown nubuck, but they are so comfortable I have grey, black and white too. I work in hospital maintenance and work in multiple buildings connected by tunnels, so I walk a lot! My feet always hurt before I found this shoe, but no longer. I add a foam cushion insole under the inserts they come with, replacing it when needed, and the shoes last a reasonable length of time wearing them every day. They slip on my heels at first, but after a couple of hours they loosen up and fit snug. The only problem is with laces not staying tied, and coming apart before the shoes are worn out. I have replaced the laces on a few pairs to extend the usable life, because they feel so good I want to get all I can out of them!!

I really don’t know what Zappos is asking, when asking about arch support. I have a high arch and unfortunately these cut across it like a knife. There felt like some sort of extra fabric or something going on as well at the place where my toes meet my feet 🙂 The width, even though marked 5E – and I’m 3E – really felt tight also at this same place on the shoe. However, the fit seemed great other than being narrow. And, interestingly, even though they are said to be 5E next to that is a marking of XX, which tells me there are just double wide and the 5E isn’t US 5E or 4E or 3E, just XX. I had ordered a different brand to try and they are marked 4E. A little loose but feel fine. So, these are going back, though I liked the style and design very much.

I used to wear New Balance for years, but the latest pair I ordered were nowhere near comparable to my old ones, not to mention the fit on the NB’s was way off from what it was supposed to be. I returned them and took a chance on this company PROPET that I’d never heard of. I have wide feet made wider because of edema in both legs, so I ordered 9.5 (5E). They fit PERFECTLY right out of the box and are very comfortable, with no break-in period whatsoever. Great design, fit, and comfort!
As for Zappos’ customer service, they’re sensational! The website info was exact down to the color shade of the sneakers. I received the new pair 2 days after ordering them. I had already gotten the refund for the NB’s immediately after dropping the returning pair at a UPS store. And, of course, FREE shipping both ways. Great experience! Kudos ZAPPOS!!!

The fit was fine. I have been walking in them for less than 2 months and the rubber pieces on the soles are already starting to fall off and separate. They are not bad shoes but don’t plan on doing a lot of walking in them they will come apart. Other than that they are not bad. Not a good value for the price.

I bought these shoes for my husband in June. It is mid September and they are already falling apart. The soles are coming apart at the heel and the toe, and the tread is worn down like he’s been wearing them for years. These are NOT durable, well-made shoes. We will NOT buy them again.
Dennis –
I think for the price I paid I should have a shoe that doesn’t start coming apart in a very short time. Pictured attached. I purchased the same shoe twice before and had good results and they wore for over a year with my sedate lifestyle. I am disabled and don’t put many miles on a shoe so they last a while. I am saddened that these are coming apart so soon and the only difference is these are brown and the other 2 were gray.
